We are excited to share our Q2 2024 newsletter with you. In this issue, we delve into groundbreaking projects, highlight key industry trends and share insights from our team. Join us as we explore how innovative solutions are transforming the utility landscape and driving value across the grid.
On the Road
LineVision was honored at the MA Climate Tech event close to home, where Gov. Maura Healy celebrated the Massachusetts companies named to Time Magazine’s Top Greentech Companies of 2024. LineVision's CEO Hudson was invited to a panel with SparkCharge, Via Separations, and Alacrity.
At the Transmission & Interconnection Summit, we celebrated FERC Commissioner Allison Clements’ contributions to advancing GETs as her term comes to an end. LineVision's VP of Policy & External Affairs and WATT Coalition board chair, Hilary Pearson, presented Commissioner Clements with the Grid Innovation Champion award.
EEI attendees may have caught Hudson and Alexina Jackson (VP Strategic Development, AES) diving into AES and LineVision's partnership and recent case study on the tech talk stage.
Finally, Hudson spoke on a panel at the White House Summit on Modernizing the Power Grid to discuss how GETs can help meet the Biden Administration’s goal to upgrade 100K miles of transmission over 5 years. It was great to be in the room with so many industry leaders, including our customers at AES, National Grid, and Dominion Energy.
GETs and DLR in the News
We applaud FERC for opening a rulemaking proceeding on Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) in its recent Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR), and are eager to help answer any questions.
In the news, LineVision was featured in Fast Company, where we are included as a solution to prevent the outdated power grid from nearing a crisis point. Our case study and work with AES were featured in Bloomberg Law, Power Magazine, and Latitude Media.
Additionally, our partnership with National Grid is included in POWERGRID International and IOT World Today, where Steven Smith (National Grid Partners president) said: “Arthur C. Clarke said, ‘Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.’ LineVision is the closest I've seen to magic in our industry.”
Upcoming Events
In August, the team is catching the end of the Olympics and attending CIGRE Paris, where Brian Leist (LineVision R&D Scientist) and Rachael Grudt (LineVision Senior Data Scientist) will co-present their winning Grid of the Future paper.
In the fall, Allison Wilkes (LineVision Solutions Engineer) will present on our work with National Grid UK at RE+, and the team will attend GridFWD.
