Q2 Newletter

This quarter, we’ve seen a growing recognition of the critical role of transmission to enable the energy transition, and have seen an acceleration in the industry’s adoption of Dynamic Line Ratings. We are excited to share the LineVision quarterly newsletter, showcasing industry progress, events, and milestones at LineVision.

Company News

We announced a partnership with AES to increase capacity on their grid to help with the integration of renewable energy and commercial load growth.

LineVision successfully achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification, a prestigious milestone in information security management. This internationally recognized standard validates our commitment to protecting our customers' sensitive data and upholding the industry’s highest standards of data security.

LineVision is proud to announce we have joined WIRES. With over half of WIRES member utilities as clients, this was a natural decision. We look forward to working within this important organization to advocate for policies and funding to ensure the transmission grid is an enabler of and not an obstacle to the energy transition.

We launched a Carbon Calculator to track the impact of our operationalized Dynamic Line Ratings projects on emissions reductions. So far, our utility partners have avoided over 1.1 million metric tons of CO2 emission by utilizing Dynamic Line Ratings.

We released a written case study on National Grid UK’s DLR Installation with LineVision. So far, operationalizing LineVision’s DLR has increased line capacity by over 50% and unlocked 600 MW of additional capacity a year, enough to power more than 500,000 homes.

LineVision advisory board member, Nora Mead Brownell, spoke with Electrek, about what the U.S. needs to do to upgrade its power grid. In the article, she shares that the current economic model favors building new power lines, but that utilities must be better incentivized to use grid enhancing technologies like DLR.

LineVision’s CEO, Hudson Gilmer spoke with fDi Intelligence’s Danielle Myles about startup investing, grid advancements, and what needs to be done to move us all towards a more sustainable grid.

Regulatory News
